How MocksByLittleFeather keeps thousands of mockups on Pinterest

MocksByLittleFeather has made more than 64,000 sales of real human mockups to print on demand sellers since 2023. With a listing for nearly every POD shirt style and color, pinning by hand was never realistic, so Michelle has Alura's Smart Pins work through her whole catalog.
Real people, real clothes, zero AI
Michelle has sold print on demand mockups on Etsy since early 2023. Her customers are print on demand sellers, and a mockup is a photo of a blank shirt or sweatshirt that the seller drops their own designs onto before using it to sell their finished products.
She specializes in real people mockups: 100% human made, featuring the real print on demand product. It's important for print on demand sellers to accurately represent the products they're selling, and real mockup photos are the best way to do that.
Michelle's catalog is organized the way her buyers shop. There's a listing for each popular blank in each color, like Comfort Colors 1717 in Blue Jean or Gildan 18000 in Sand.
Too many listings to pin by hand
That structure is great on Etsy and impossible to market by hand. Each color has its own listing, so a customer looking for a Pepper 1717 mockup lands on exactly that when searching on Etsy. MocksByLittleFeather now has close to 4,000 active listings, and she is constantly adding new mockups.
Many print on demand sellers plan on Pinterest, collecting mockup styles, shop aesthetics and seasonal ideas long before they buy. Pinning a few favorites now and then would cover a tiny slice of MocksByLittleFeather's catalog, and it would always be the same slice. Meanwhile a customer choosing a mockup this week isn't going to scroll back through last year's pins to find the color they need.
“If I pinned by hand I honestly wouldn't post to Pinterest. It would take too long and I wouldn't be able to stay current with what POD sellers are searching for on Pinterest.”
Smart Pins works through the catalog
Michelle connected the shop's Pinterest account to Alura and turned on both automations. Once a day, Smart Pins fills the queue about ten days ahead with pins made from active listings. It ranks them mostly by Etsy views, so the mockups shoppers are already clicking on come up most often. A photo pinned in the past week is never reused, and with close to 4,000 listings there is almost always a fresh mockup to pick.
Pin New Listings covers the other half. It picks up listings that Michelle listed on Etsy in the past day, so when a new listing goes live it gets pinned without a separate step. The titles and descriptions on every pin are written by AI, optimized for Pinterest from each listing's own text.
That leaves Michelle very little to manage. In the Pin Queue she sets how many pins go out a day and at what times, and anything lined up can be reordered, edited or deleted. She can move a seasonal mockup up the list when the timing matters. Otherwise the pins post on their own, so there's no approval step to fall behind on while she's making the next batch of trendy mockups.
“I've been using Alura's Pinterest automation for over 2 years and I've checked on my pins maybe 3-4 times. It saves so much time!”
Pins that rank in search
Because the AI writes from the listing, the pins reflect what Michelle already includes in her Etsy listings. One reads "Trendy Chambray Sweatshirt Mockup with Real Model". Another, "Comfort Colors Sweater Mockup for Print on Demand", describes a "real photo mockup" of a garment-dyed 1566 sweatshirt and mentions the bonus size chart.
The style numbers come through too: Comfort Colors 6014, Bella Canvas 3001, Gildan 18000. Those are words print on demand sellers type in search, on Pinterest as much as on Etsy. Michelle's part is the mockups and the listings. The pins follow from them, so her Pinterest keeps showing mockups to the right audience: POD sellers who are looking for what she's selling.

It frees up your time to focus on the things that matter, like your next line of products to list, and it helps build your brand's social media presence.
“You're already listing products to Etsy, so why not let Alura pin them to Pinterest for you?”
