NorasCrochetCornerDK sells hand-painted safety eyes for crochet plushies from Denmark and has a 4.98 star rating from 165 reviews since opening on Etsy in 2024. Most of its safety eye titles used to open with the same five words, and Nora rewrote them in Alura's listing editor to lead with each collection's finish.

The eyes that finish a crochet plushie

Nora makes the part of a crochet plushie that people look at first: the eyes. Each pair of safety eyes is hand-painted with glitter, shimmery mica powder or color-shifting flakes, sealed in durable resin and sold with matching backings. The collections run from 16mm to 40mm, and now and then a pair is one of a kind, like a 30mm pair painted with a blue and purple cloud that will never be repeated.

The listings are plain about the details a crocheter needs. Prices are for a pair, not a single eye. The color shift is strong in dark blue and subtle in green. Most photos show the eyes held in a hand, so the size is easy to judge.

Alongside the eyes, Nora 3D prints tools in plant-based PLA, including a Monstera leaf safety eye inserter, and sells stitch markers and printable plushie adoption certificates for craft fairs. The shop ships worldwide from Denmark and has made more than 550 sales.

Most collections opened with the same five words

The eyes are sorted into collections by finish: Chameleon, Shimmer, Light Aurora, Dark Aurora, Broken Glass, Mushroom and more. Most of the early titles shared one template. They opened with "Hand-painted safety eyes for amigurumi", followed by the collection name and then every size, one by one: 35mm 30mm 25mm 20mm 18mm 16mm.

That template kept a growing range in order, and it described each product accurately. It also made the listings look alike. Side by side, most titles started the same way, and the finish, the thing that makes a Chameleon pair different from a Mushroom pair, sat in the middle or near the end.

“People shopping for safety eyes already know they want safety eyes. What they're choosing is the look. Glitter, color shifting, shimmer. That's what should come first.”

One title pattern, written by hand

Nora rewrote the titles in Alura's listing editor. Every listing there gets a listing score with separate grades for photos, title, description and tags, and edits stay in the editor until she clicks Publish changes. If a new title doesn't sit right, Listing history can restore the earlier version.

She wrote the safety eye titles herself and gave every collection the same shape. The finish leads: Color Shifting, Glitter, Shimmery, Mushroom. Next comes who the eyes are for, crochet plushies and amigurumi. The run of six sizes became a single range, 16-40mm. "Hand Painted" follows, and the collection name closes the title.

The pattern matches her photos. Many listings open with a picture of a full collection on a card, labeled with its name, how many colors it comes in and the 16-40mm range. Now the title and the first photo describe the eyes in the same words.

“I wanted one pattern I could reuse. When I paint a new collection, the title almost writes itself: the finish, what it's for, the sizes, hand painted, then the name.”

The same eyes, pinned from a queue

Safety eyes are hard to judge without seeing them, and Pinterest runs on pictures. Nora connected her Pinterest account to Alura and turned on two automations. Smart Pins fills a queue with pins made from her active listings, picked mostly by their Etsy views. Pin New Listings picks up new listings in its daily run.

The pin titles and descriptions are written by AI for Pinterest. Smart Board sends each shop section's pins to its own board, with a fallback board for anything else, and her boards are named for what she makes: "Handpainted safety eyes for amigurumi", "Safety eye tools jigs", "Cute stitch markers". Anything in the queue can be edited, reordered or deleted before it posts.

Titles that lead with the finish

Here are three of the titles, before and after. Both versions were live on Etsy. The before titles were written to keep a catalog in order, with every size spelled out. The after titles put the finish first, fold the sizes into one range and close with the collection name where there is one.

The Glitter, Shimmer, Chameleon, Broken Glass, Sparkle and Prism listings now share that shape, so the first words of every title name the finish a buyer is choosing between. The pins carry the same words. One reads "Color Shifting Safety Eyes for Crochet Plushies and Amigurumi" and describes the broken glass finish underneath.

Show the whole range, then say what the photo can't

Photograph every color in a collection together on one card, label the sizes, and hold it so the scale is obvious. A buyer choosing between finishes wants to compare them in one look. Then use the description for what a photo can't show: that the price covers a pair, and how strongly each color shifts. Anything a buyer would otherwise have to ask in a message belongs in the listing.

“Be honest about the colors. I tell people the dark blue shift is strong and the green one is subtle. Someone who knows that before they order is a happy customer.”
