Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I started my Etsy shop in August of 2019 after coming across printable meal plans on Pinterest. I thought "I could make printable products" after seeing these on Etsy. The first products I sold were products I had created for my own life; financial spreadsheets and goal trackers. I create products based on keyword research and market research. I only make products I am excited about making. It keeps my business fun and exciting!

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Currently, my favorite products in my shop are my seasonal game products and my Etsy coaching.

My seasonal games are selling well because it is the beginning of the holiday season here in the USA. Also, my coaching product is something that sells well because people love tapping into my wealth of knowledge to level up their own small business.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took me a month to get an organic sale in my Etsy shop. I sold a savings tracker. I currently attract sellers to my Etsy shop by creating products that are in demand and have low competition.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I am the only person who manages my shop. I currently use Alura, Etsy, and Erank to get keyword ideas. I use Canva to create my product and listing images. I do not ship anything as I sell digital products that are delivered instantly to the buyer by Etsy. I use YouTube to create tutorial videos for my products. What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My goals for my shop are to get to 500 products and make $100k/year. I currently make $35k/year selling digital products passively in my Etsy shop.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

My advice for new sellers starting out on Etsy is to do keyword research before creating anything. Pair this with market research to make sure that your design aesthetic is what is popular on Etsy. You only have so much time in the day to create, so you want to make sure that you are maximizing your potential future profitability.
