How WearhouseIndustries got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Laura and I started Wearhouse Industries at the advice of our daughter, who was running her own shop at the time. We laser engrave pine, birch, cork, and faux leather fabric tags to help businesses promote their brands and their products. We try to buy our supplies from other Etsy businesses.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
We work very hard to put out high-quality products. Since most orders are custom, design and making proofs for the customer's approval are time-consuming. We work quickly to provide the customer with proof as soon as possible. Our cork fabric tags sell the best. and is one of our favorites.

Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It wasn’t long at all for our first sale—maybe 4 days. Our daughter helped us do a little advertising online. Every so often, we get mentioned in a blog post or article that helps get our business name and location out there. We have lots of word-of-mouth advertising that we nurture by providing the best possible experience for the buyer.
Managing WearhouseIndustries
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
Laura and I both work for the business. Laura does all the communicating with the customer, packaging, and shipping. I do the software for the laser setup and the actual making of the product.
The future of WearhouseIndustries
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
Our future goals for the business are to maintain the high quality of our products and services. With just the two of us working the business, we can keep a handle on cost and quality, but it does keep us busy.
