Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hi there! I'm a female ceramicist with an Etsy shop selling my handmade ceramic creations. I specialize in adorable owls, dog planters, and charming figures of meninas. I love working with my hands, and I've been passionate about ceramics for many years. My friends and family encouraged me to share my pieces with the world, so I started selling on Etsy. Each piece is made with love in my studio, and I source my clay locally. I love incorporating elements of nature and the world around us into my creations, especially my love for dachshund dogs! I also work with galleries in Spain to share my pieces with an even wider audience. I hope my shop brings a smile to your face and a bit of joy to your life. Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I don't have favorites. However, I can say that having a clear understanding of which items are best sellers and why they are popular can help me make decisions on which products to focus on in the future. I also find it helpful to analyze customer reviews and comments to see what they appreciate about particular products and what they would like to see more of. I think it is a good idea to periodically monitor sales data and trends to see what is selling well and why. This information helps me make decisions about pricing, promotions, and product offerings. I also try to showcase my products with high-quality photos to attract customers.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The truth is that I started to be successful very quickly; I guess it depends on the competition in your niche, the quality of your product photos and descriptions, and your marketing efforts. To attract customers to my Etsy store, I consider it very important to have quality and fun photos that look different and detailed descriptions that accurately represent your products. (I admit that I fail quite a bit on this one.) I also use social media and other online platforms to drive traffic to my store. Collaborating with other Etsy sellers or participating in Etsy's paid advertising programs can also be effective in reaching a wider audience. Depending on the product, it can be quite costly at times. In addition, offer promotions and discounts, as well as excellent customer service, to help build a positive reputation and encourage repeat purchases. Build relationships with customers by trying to be approachable and colloquial. special packaging, etc.

Managing UmmaArte

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I work on everything in my store. It is important to have clear responsibilities, such as product creation, customer service, shipping and delivery, and marketing. The finances are the only thing I delegate to my tax advisor. In the future, I would like to have more help and dedicate myself only to creating, but for the moment, I am ready for everything. Also, I use tools like Trello, which I find useful for project management and staying organized. Overall, managing my Etsy store is time-consuming, but with the right tools and a lot of love, it can also be a rewarding and satisfying experience.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Increasing sales is the most immediate objective. Expand the product offering by creating new complementary products.

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

  • Find a way to turn your passion into a business.
  • Research your target audience and the competition in your niche.
  • Product photos are crucial to the success of your store.
  • Detailed product descriptions
  • Customers want to know how much shipping will cost, how long it will take for their order to arrive, and what to do if there are any problems with it.
  • Establishing close relationships with customers always keeps them coming back if they are happy.
  • Use social media (I'm terrible at it, but I try).
  • Have a lot of patience. Creating a successful Etsy store takes time.
