How TeennACreations got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Early March 2020, I started making face masks for my community and children at my daughters school. So that if they ever needed to wear them, they would be familiar with them. 

From there, it just grew! I opened an Etsy store and then saw that there were 250 pages of people selling masks.

But I persisted, did some Etsy courses and now am the top face mask seller in Australia on Etsy.

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

The Teachers pack is my favorite listing because I love the colors in it.

The best selling listing is here. I think because it was the first item I added to the shop and have spent time tweaking it.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?  

It only took a couple of days for the orders to start. I have advertised on Facebook, and Etsy advertising to try to get customers.

Managing TeennACreations

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

This shop is definitely not a single person role. We have 6 sewers plus myself, my business partner and my Dad all helping with the admin, shipping and packing etc.

We are currently selling 1000+ masks per week on Etsy and we need all the helpers we can get to make sure we keep getting the orders out on time, especially at the moment when everyone in Australia needs them.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I haven't really thought about this, as the way it is keeps me pretty busy for now!

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Do some research. Find some courses out there that can help with the ins and outs of Etsy. There is much more to a successful shop than just opening one.
