How seungmiscutestudio got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Hello! I'm Seung-Mi, the founder and owner of Seungmiscutestudiote It had always been my dream to have my own shop one day, ever since I was a little child. Never did I think I'd really get to this point, but here we go!
When I started journaling back in 2018, I fell in love with using stickers, and because I could never get enough and saw all of these cute sticker businesses on Instagram, I really wanted to make my own. So I just went for it and doodled a bit. I started slow and had no idea what I was doing! But I went with it, kept going, and eventually got better at making pretty stickers. I am so grateful for all the people who supported me right from the beginning! I wouldn't have been able to come here without every single one of them. And in late 2021, I finally summoned the courage to open my small shop. And so far, it was the best decision I ever made!
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My favorite items are usually the most recent ones, because I'm still improving! But one of my all-time favorite products is definitely the "Magical Bubble Shapes" sticker sheet. It was one of the first sticker sheets to be in my shop, and it happened to become my first bestseller very fast! So it holds a special place in my heart, for sure.
Another product I really love is my customizable resin keychains! I love making these and seeing what customers would like to receive and how they trust my work! I always enjoy seeing how much my customers like the results. These are also selling very well right now. It took some time for these to get bought on a regular basis. But by now, they definitely do.
#1 decor stickers are another one of my best-sellers! I also really enjoy using them on my own since you can find so many cute and tiny stickers on these sheets! This design was a lot of work, but definitely worth it.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I was lucky enough to have my first sale within a few minutes of officially opening my shop! I think that was because I was active on Instagram a lot already. I earned quite a few followers there and teased my products for a long time before actually opening my shop. I think it is important to build a base first to guarantee a quick start to your business.
Managing seungmiscutestudio
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
My shop is only managed by me. I sometimes get help from a friend when I get a lot of orders to help me pack them. But other than that, it is just me.
For apps, I use the Etsy Seller app as well as the Shopify app.
My finances are all managed in a table of numbers on my Mac.
For making my products, I use an iPad and Procreate for designing.
Shipping works via DHL, where I'm registered as a business owner to save on international shipping! All orders get dropped off at a mailbox by myself. Tracked orders are being dropped off by the DHL shop personally.
The future of seungmiscutestudio
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
My goal is to grow my business even more! I am currently working on a collaboration with an offline store to feature my products in their local store. This is definitely a goal I was working towards! I hope that I will be able to be featured in more offline stores in the future. Also, I hope to get into making a greater variety of products to share. I would like to make more wax products like candles and wax melts in the future (which I already started with)! And I am also looking into making washi tapes and notebooks with my own designs! I have a lot of plans and ideas in my head, haha! But the most important thing to me is that I enjoy what I'm doing. It gives me so much joy whenever customers receive their products and leave their happy and lovely messages! So my major goal is to make sure to share more happiness with other people!
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice is, "Just go for it!" If you have something that you're passionate about and that you love doing, then you should definitely give it a try. Because what could be better than earning money doing something you absolutely love? But make sure to make up your mind about it and do a lot of research to get everything right (especially legal-wise)! It takes a lot of time to run a shop, and it definitely gets stressful from time to time. But hey! You can always manage your time the way you want! So make sure to also take breaks whenever you need them. Also, what I found really helpful was building a little community first before opening the shop (e.g. on Instagram or TikTok)!! Showcase your products a lot and engage with your followers, who will be your potential future customers! And always remember: You can do it!

Question: How much is your monthly revenue?
Answer: This really varies a lot ! There are months where I get an income from 1.000-2.000€ and then we have months with only about 400-500€ ! Every month is different and that's okay. Don't feel discouraged by that <3
