Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
The name of my Etsy shop is Queen Helene’s Boutique. How I got started on Etsy - I have a friend who makes wood home decor. We decided to open an Etsy shop to see if his products would sell. We had some sales and good reviews. In 2021 I opened my own Etsy store - Queen Helene’s Boutique. In my store the plan was to sell gift items. Around the same time I discovered Gelato print on demand. I started selling print on demand products - coffee mugs, posters, and also craft kits.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
In my shop I have Germany gifts, Greece gifts, France gifts, fantasy art gifts. I also have craft kits. I like the Germany gifts. I think the craft kits are the items that sell the most. Some of my products are print on demand. I get art supplies and craft kits from suppliers.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I got my first sale when I had close to 100 products. I kept adding products and then got my first sale. How do I attract customers to my shop - I’m learning about different ways to attract customers like Instagram and Pinterest. Alura connects my shop to Pinterest. I also take Etsy courses. I am always learning about how to improve my Etsy business.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
