How PolemPollyArt got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I have been drawing since childhood! My training and further work were connected precisely with drawing! But anyway, it was office work, or other people dictated the rules to me! As I learned more about Etsy and got to know the site better, I realized that I would have more freedom and be able to adequately present my art here. From the very beginning, I knew that I would be presenting flower-themed clipart in my shop. I enjoy making collections—when a couple of flowers become a wreath, a bouquet, or a pattern. From the very beginning, I just drew the flowers that I liked, not relying on trends; it was quite difficult for me to follow them, and I acted intuitively. I think this is what helped me develop my store; I just drew what I would like to buy myself.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Yes, I have a few particularly favorite products. The first is a coffee set.

In this set, all the elements are very well crafted and have a high artistic appeal to me. But commercially, it is less successful than other products. I know that the competition in this section is very strong, but sometimes I give myself the opportunity to just draw and not analyze.

One of the best-selling sets is a frame of roses.

It combines several factors: simplicity and ease of depicting flowers; a variety of forms of the frames themselves; and versatility for use in various purposes. This set was one of the first flower sets. Visitors to my store appreciated it quite quickly.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

My first sale happened on the second or third day of my store's existence, after the second product was uploaded. At the moment, I sometimes use Etsy ads when I want a particular product to become more visible in the general issue.

Managing PolemPollyArt

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Since the creation of the store, I have done everything myself. It all starts with planning the selection of topics for the set. how many elements it will have, what colors it will have, and what other products I will make from these elements in the future After drawing the entire collection, I finalized them in Photoshop. All that helps me is planning and setting tasks for the day, week, and month. I use eRank to keep track of my shop's statistics and analytics on topics of interest to me. This is the most convenient tool for me.

The future of PolemPollyArt

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My main goal is to make my store recognizable, develop a personal brand, and increase traffic and sales. Interaction with clients is very important to me, so another of my goals is to create more individual orders for my customers.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I will only recommend what is important to me! Create or draw only what you would like to buy yourself. Create only what inspires you. Always believe that your buyer will find you sooner or later! A quality product will always return a customer and earn you a positive review. Your courtesy in correspondence with a client forms his opinion of you!
