How PerfectoriaWorkshop got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Yevhen and I (Anna) are the proud parents of our beautiful daughter! We are very involved in our daughter's life and take pride in her developmental skill progress! We got tired of wasting her time and our money on useless toys and decided, why not try to create and develop our own interactive board? We thought it would be wonderful to not only help our daughter, but all little explorers, develop many skills all on one board! We built a business to help parents like us create their own interactive board that will help develop their child's developmental skills, such as eye and hand coordination, cause and effect, problem solving, and so many other skills, all while having fun and staying busy!
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
When we first started our business, we sold ready-made interactive boards. Later, we thought that it would be good if each parent could make their own interactive board for their child, taking into account the needs and characteristics of their child. And it was a great idea! Thousands of satisfied customers, thanks to our busy board kits, are now able to make individual interactive boards for their children with pleasure.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
We opened our store for the international market in September 2020. The first sale was not long in coming, as we offered almost exclusive products in our niche. And within a couple of weeks after opening, we started selling on Etsy.
At the moment, every month there are more and more competitors. But we keep our brand because our products are of high quality, which is very important since these are products for children. We have an Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook page that help us sell on Etsy.
Managing PerfectoriaWorkshop
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
We are working on the store together with my husband. We develop the design of the details for busy boards together, and we also do photo shoots for listings together. The husband is engaged in the assembly of busy boards. I do all the work with clients and shipping goods.
We live and work in Ukraine. After the outbreak of hostilities in our country, for the first two months (February–March 2022), we could not work, as air traffic was disrupted and postal services were in a difficult situation. But every day, we all work hard to ensure that our customers abroad can buy again and quickly receive our goods. We are operating normally and quickly delivering our goods around the world thanks to the efforts of our and international postal services!
The future of PerfectoriaWorkshop
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
We have many ideas. We want to expand our range in the future. We also want to add completely new products. We are actively preparing for this. We hope our customers appreciate it! But until then, we'll keep everything a secret!
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
If you have a great idea that you think will work, buckle up and take the plunge. Yes, it can be difficult to make a decision, and even more difficult to stick to the chosen line in difficult times. but it's worth it. Write a clear plan for yourself and follow it. Be sure to remember that there are ups and downs. but never give up! Do more than is expected of you. Don't stop learning. And rest assured that you will succeed!
