How PawsomeCrochet got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hi, I’m Rebecca Davis, and I’m the designer behind Pawsome Crochet. My shop offers fun and festive crochet pet accessories as well as digital patterns to make the designs yourself. I first launched my Etsy shop in 2015, and it started as a side hobby offering a diverse mix of crafts. As I learned more about selling on Etsy and what worked and didn't work, I refined my shop, dropping product lines that didn’t fit with what I did well or what people liked. In 2017, 2.5 years into my Etsy journey, I changed my shop's name to its current one and focused entirely on pet accessories. It was a very hard and emotional decision, but from a business perspective, it made sense. It's easier to reach my audience, focus my energy, and grow. After that, sales doubled. expanded from dog items only to cat items in early 2018, and it really took off and became a full-time job from 2019 on.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My absolute favorite product will always be my Santa dog hats, because they were the inspiration for my entire pet product line.

Answer:
On average, my conversion rate is around 4%, but it fluctuates greatly. It is often higher during my peak holiday seasons, and much lower when I get featured on other sites and social media.
