How LioraBJewelry got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I sell handmade beaded jewelry in my Etsy shop. I first started selling part-time on Etsy in 2014 while working in a different field. I loved making jewelry in my free time. Little did I know it, I would soon become a full-time jewelry designer and maker! My collection consists of necklaces and earrings. I am constantly coming up with new designs that are inspired by my own personal taste, suggestions, and ideas from historic and modern art and culture. Whether I am working on a classic or new design, each piece is thoughtfully created with love and care.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I personally love my collection of bridal earrings! Each piece is gorgeous and unique. I believe that brides deserve to feel beautiful and special on their big day, and these earrings have helped so many women achieve that! Here are the top two designs in the collection:

Outside of my bridal collection, I also love this pair of beadwork earrings that feature delicate craftsmanship and vibrant colors and are sure to turn heads:

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I made my first sale on Etsy about two weeks after uploading my first items. I still remember the thrill of hearing that first "cha-ching my first items. I still remember the thrill of hearing that first "cha-ching," and it drives me to keep pushing forward and creating new, unique pieces for my collections and Etsy store. I put a lot of advertising effort into Pinterest and Instagram campaigns to drive traffic to my Etsy store. I work tirelessly to showcase my creations and reach a wider audience. Because I believe in constantly offering fresh and exciting pieces, I make sure to regularly update my store with new and eye-catching designs. I believe this keeps previous customers interested and coming back for more (whether for themselves or loved ones), plus it increases opportunities for new customers to find something they love and can’t live without!

Managing LioraBJewelry

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Running my shop is a lot of work, but I'm proud of my results! To keep track of orders and customer communications, I use the built-in tools provided by Etsy as well as a customer relationship management (CRM) app to keep all my information organized in one place. When it comes to shipping and fulfillment, I carefully pack each item and ship it out promptly using shipping services like DHL. I offer package tracking to customers so they can keep an eye on the delivery of their purchases. I make sure to provide top-notch customer service and resolve any issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner, which helps me maintain long-term customers and also gets me good reviews, which can increase the likelihood of attaining new customers.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Research your niche: Know the market and the competition. Look at what other sellers are offering and what their prices are. Research the keywords that potential customers would use to find the products you want to sell, and make sure you use labels that will help them find what you create.

Develop a brand: Create a consistent look and feel for your shop, including your logo and color scheme. Use high-quality images and descriptions to showcase your products. There is no use spending tons of time to create a product if you don’t spend the appropriate time to help customers get a consistent feel for your brand and what you stand for.

Create a great customer experience. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries and feedback as soon as possible. Clearly communicate your shipping and return policies.

Set realistic prices: price your products correctly and competitively, taking into account the cost of materials, labor, and shipping. Don’t be afraid to ask for what your product is worth, but don’t be greedy either.

Building a successful Etsy shop takes time, so be patient and persistent. Keep your passion and love for your business, and don’t keep doing things that you don’t enjoy. Channel your creativity and have fun!
