How LinaLanDesign got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
I started LinaLanDesign during my time as a stay-at-home mom. As a graphic designer and marketer, I deeply missed the creative process and the fulfillment that comes with it. This business became more than just a creative outlet—it became a way to reconnect with a part of myself I didn’t want to lose in the journey of motherhood. It allows me to create with purpose, share my passion, and balance the two most important roles in my life: mother and designer.
I stocked my store with print-on-demand products through platforms like Printify and later added Printful. This approach gave me the flexibility I needed as a mom and entrepreneur—it meant I didn’t have to worry about managing inventory or making shipping runs. It allowed me to focus on what I love most: designing meaningful, beautiful products while still being present for my family.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
Some of my favorite items in the store are the swimsuits—especially the matching family sets. The “mommy and me” swim options are some of the cutest pieces I offer, and I love seeing others enjoy them as much as I do. I’ve even gifted a few sets to friends and their daughters, and they’ve been an absolute hit. It’s moments like those that remind me why I started this business—to create things that bring joy and connection.

Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale, and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I earned my first sale fairly quickly—my family was incredibly supportive and purchased a few items during my first week on Etsy. Within a month, I made my first organic sale, and it was such an exciting moment. It validated the work I was doing and gave me the motivation to keep building and growing.
I try to attract customers by creating things I would personally purchase—products that feel thoughtful, useful, and beautiful. A lot of my inspiration comes from real life, especially my son. Many of the baby onesies in my shop were designed with him in mind, reflecting moments of joy, humor, and love from our everyday life. I believe that when you design from the heart, it resonates with others, too.
Managing LinaLanDesign
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo, or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop, and how do you handle fulfillment?
Yes, it is only me. My shop pretty much manages itself. I try and add fresh listings every few months. I have used your product to optimize listings and make the descriptions fun.
The future of LinaLanDesign
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
While the income from my store is still modest, it’s been incredibly rewarding to earn extra money doing something I love. My hope is to continue growing Lina Lan Design into something bigger—something that not only fuels my creativity but also becomes a more substantial source of income for my family. Every sale brings me one step closer to that goal, and I’m excited about the journey ahead.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
If I could give any advice to someone starting their own store, it would be this: don’t be afraid to add lots of products and test what works. Some of the items I was unsure about ended up selling surprisingly well, while others I thought would be a hit didn’t get much traction. In the beginning, I paid close attention to which listings were getting the most clicks and views, and I used that insight to guide what I created next. It’s all a learning process—and that’s part of the fun.
