How LelucaCreations got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

At LelucaCreations, we specialize in anti-slip stickers designed to enhance safety in slippery areas like bathtubs, showers, and stairs—helping families prevent dangerous slips and falls.

Our journey started with a need for such a product. Our little baby boy was eager to explore, and as soon as he could, he wanted to walk in the tub—a major safety risk. Even for us, stepping out of the bath onto slippery tiles felt unsafe. We looked for solutions but found that traditional bath mats weren’t quite our style, and most mass-produced anti-slip stickers lacked variety and quality in design.

That’s when we decided to create our own. We spent months testing materials, refining designs, and perfecting our stickers. What began as a personal solution quickly turned into something others needed too. Our commitment to combining safety with aesthetic appeal drives us to design products that not only prevent accidents but also complement home decor and make bath time more fun for kids. And so, after some busy months of product development, LelucaCreations was born.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

We have a few personal favorites—some because of their aesthetics and others because of the amount of research and effort that went into perfecting them.

One of our standout products is our Montessori-style dinosaur anti-slip stickers. This set required a lot of design work, as we wanted to ensure that the colors, shapes, and overall aesthetic aligned with Montessori principles— minimalistic, realistic, engaging, and designed to encourage independent learning and exploration. Before even deciding to create them, we conducted thorough keyword research to understand what parents were searching for when looking for Montessori-related items. Montessori is a well-known parenting approach that emphasizes independence, practical life skills, and a thoughtfully prepared environment for children. Since many Montessori-inspired products focus on learning and sensory development, we saw an opportunity to bring these principles into the bathroom by offering a stylish, educational, and safe way for children to engage with their surroundings during bath time. This set has resonated with many parents who follow Montessori principles and are looking for non-traditional, aesthetically pleasing home safety solutions.

Another favorite is our Fern anti-slip stickers. While the design itself is quite simplistic, it represents one of our biggest successes in keyword and market research. This product was born purely out of analyzing market trends, identifying gaps, and optimizing based on search demand. We noticed a strong interest in nature-inspired home decor, particularly botanical elements, and saw an opportunity to apply this trend to bathroom safety. By refining our keywords, optimizing our listings, and ensuring our product fit the demand, our Fern sticker set quickly became one of our bestsellers. It's proof that combining data-driven decisions with thoughtful design can lead to great results.

It's incredibly rewarding to create something from scratch, put it out into the world, and see people across the globe finding value in it!

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

Believe it or not, our first sale happened just one minute after opening the shop! We were thrilled—but also had a moment of panic, wondering what would happen if orders suddenly flooded in.

This experience was quite different from our other Etsy shop, where we sell vintage and antique items. That store took months to get its first sale, so seeing immediate demand for LelucaCreations was both exciting and reassuring.

To attract customers, we focus on keyword optimization, a big variety of designs, and engaging product descriptions. We also use Etsy ads and competitive analysis tools to refine our strategy and make sure our products reach the right audience. Our customers often include parents and caregivers who prioritize home safety without compromising on style. We also strongly believe that our product is a necessity for all homes.

Managing LelucaCreations

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

LelucaCreations is a small family business run by the two of us — Keit and Tanel. It’s currently a side hustle, but we’re steadily growing and excited to see where it takes us.

On the production side, our setup is relatively simple: a high-quality printer and a cutting machine. For design, marketing, and research, we rely on a range of tools, including Photoshop, AI tools like ChatGPT and MidJourney, Canva, and Google Ads + Alura for keyword and competition analysis.

For shipping, we work with a local logistics company that integrates seamlessly with our Etsy store through Baselinker. This automation ensures all orders are processed efficiently, and tracking details are updated in real-time, making the entire fulfillment process hassle-free.

The future of LelucaCreations

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

We’re currently working on new product niches and design upgrades to enhance our offerings and attract more customers. But our long-term vision is even bigger—we’d love to grow LelucaCreations into a broader kids’ brand, expanding beyond anti-slip stickers into a wider range of child-friendly, safety-focused products.

Beyond Etsy, we’re exploring opportunities to partner with retail stores and expand into additional e-commerce platforms. We’re also passionate about promoting home safety awareness and plan to engage more with our community through informative content and collaborations. In the United States, anti-slip stickers are a well-known and commonly used product, but in Europe, and particularly in Estonia, many households are unfamiliar with them as an alternative to traditional bath mats. We see this as an opportunity not just to sell a product but to educate people about the importance of bathroom and home safety. Through social media, blog posts, and partnerships with parenting and home safety influencers, we aim to raise awareness about how simple solutions like ours can prevent accidents and create a safer environment for families. It’s an exciting journey, and we’re eager to see where it leads!

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Our biggest advice? Just start. There’s nothing to lose by trying—if you never start, you’ll never know what’s possible.

That said, don’t go in blind. Research is key. In today’s market, data-driven decisions can make all the difference. Tools like Alura can help analyze demand, competition, and keywords before you even launch, giving you a strategic advantage.

Most importantly, stay adaptable and keep learning. Etsy is always evolving, and success comes from continuously improving your listings, marketing, and products based on real customer feedback. Branding is also crucial—creating a strong shop identity and engaging with customers through high-quality visuals and detailed descriptions can set you apart from the competition. Build relationships with buyers by responding promptly to messages and addressing concerns professionally; great customer service leads to repeat buyers and positive reviews, which help your shop grow over time.

Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
