How Kinderklipz got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My name is Dália, and I am the person behind Kinderklipz. I sell mostly sustainable European wooden supplies (beads, kits, teething rings, peg dolls), European made metal snap buttons, European pacifier cords, European Polaris beads, toy making supplies, tools and more. I source my supplies from small companies in different countries in Europe but also around the world.
I've been on Etsy since 2008 and I had other Etsy shops, including selling my jewelry creations and fabric clutches, before I settled with Kinderklipz.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
It’s always hard to pick favorites as I sourced, photographed, and listed every single one, but people are loving my craft kits and peg dolls.
Some of my craft kits are:

Some of my peg dolls:

Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I can’t remember but I remember that it didn’t take long since there weren’t so many craft supply sellers on Etsy back in 2008.
Currently, I just rely on good SEO, good photos, and customer service. I don’t do much social media, ads, or anything outside of Etsy. I do have Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, but it takes months to post anything new, but I do like and use Etsy Updates.
Managing Kinderklipz
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I'm the sales department, customer service department, packing department, photographer, marketing intern, and digital handywoman. When you contact my shop or make a purchase, it's me who will be taking care of everything.
I ship my orders 3 times a week, and these are the most time-consuming tasks I have during the week, but it gives me 2 free weekdays to do other shop-related work. I mostly update old listings' SEO, check and compare stats, add more listing photos and new products.
I use SEO tools, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Teachable (to watch the courses that I have), and the Etsy app and website.
The future of Kinderklipz
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
I want to add many more products to my shop. I have so many waiting to get photographed and listed. My main goal is to have around 500 by the end of 2023 and to continue growing my sales and maybe focus on one social media platform (Instagram).
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
When I started selling on Etsy, there weren't any Etsy courses, Youtube videos, or even friendly sellers' Facebook groups. It was an unknown road ahead, and most of the time it was a test-and-fail road. Of course, there are other challenges nowadays, but start with a good base knowledge, learn and understand the "why" of Etsy things, and you will have "shortcuts" that save you time and your sanity and help you boost your shop from the beginning. Find a trustworthy Etsy seller who shares their knowledge mainly for free with everyone who wants to learn. I suggest starting by watching Kara Buntin's Youtube channel.
