Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
I started my shop in 2020 (late in the year). I had been thinking about opening an Etsy shop for nearly two years and finally decided to go ahead with it after many months of watching online tutorials and following other creative groups. I had my son (who is 9 years old now), and after this, I started to feel like I wanted something else to do that was a hobby. I have a full-time job as a digital marketing consultant, but my passion is in creating designs for people to wear. I wanted to focus on families, so I started with matching tops for dad and son or daughter.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
Big Man Little Man Shirts Matching Dad and Son Tops quickly became a bestseller. I could not believe how popular these were. I then began to make matching outfits for mom and baby, and again, these were very popular.
I was so happy with how my little hobby shop was going and started to think about what else I could make, and this is when I launched my personalized wedding slippers. along with personalized tote bags.
Last year I again thought, "How can I grow my shop?" and decided to make personalized matching couples pajamas, and Wow! What a busy Christmas I had! Launching these sets made a massive difference to my already busy shop, and these went viral. I have various designs, but my most popular and best sellers are
On the back of these, I have now launched some Valentine's Day pajamas. and these are now becoming popular, with more than 20 in people's baskets.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It took me a few weeks to get my first sale and i have etsy ads on all the time and increase /decrease budget depending on time of year. I should do more of social media but as this is my full time day job i often forget to post regular and do all the things i teach my clients to do when it comes to marketing

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I manage my shop on my own and make each order and handle shipping. I have no one else that works with me, and I enjoy working on each item knowing I have produced it myself.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
My goals for this year are to grow my range, expand my wedding collection, grow the designs for matching pajamas, and hopefully be able to have my own website. (I'm also trying to focus on my social media platforms.)
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
Be patient, believe in yourself, and trust the process. Concentrate on one product or range at a time, invest your time in this, and once it starts selling and becomes a best seller, move on to your next design or range. Take it slow and it will happen. When I first started, I never thought anyone would buy my designs. I remember getting to 10 sales and doing a happy dance, then again at 50 sales, and now my shop has 3214 sales!
