Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I have been fond of needlework since childhood; my mother taught me cross stitch and various techniques. My husband inspired me to create an Etsy shop as an income from my favorite hobby. Having breakfast in the kitchen with delicious coffee, he said, "Honey, why don't you open a shop on Etsy and turn your hobby into a profitable business?" And I said, "Why not? Let's open a store." He took the initiative to fill the listings, and I submitted my creative ideas. This is how my small family embroidery shop was formed, which I am very proud of. The main assortment is embroidery kits, including cross-stitch and beads, as well as kits in various techniques, such as embroidery on wood, plastic bases, etc., and additional accessories for needlewomen, such as embroidery frames, machines, organizers of thread and beads, and many different trinkets. My mission through my store is to introduce the world to such a wonderful hobby as cross-stitching and beadwork.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I have a couple of favorite products. The first is a set for embroidery of Beetles. In the finished work, they are as real, alive.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The first sales were approximately 3 weeks after the opening of the store and the addition of listings. It was an unforgettable moment when we heard the magical "Cha-ching" for the first time. We use Etsy ads and Etsy SEO. We tried to attract customers through social networks, but for us, it did not give the expected result. Maybe we need some company to advertise our store.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

My husband and I run a shop together. I do accounting, operational points, pack orders, and ship. My husband helps with shipping, communicates with customers, and gives me inspiration.

Our goal is to optimize processes, increase profits, create new products, and keep up with modern trends. popularization of Ukrainian brands all over the world!

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Etsy is a great platform to start your own business. In my example, you can create a profitable business from a hobby. The main thing is not to be afraid; go towards your goal or dream and believe in your own strength; the work you do with love always allows you to achieve the desired result.
