How Icimaroc got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My Etsy shop, Icimaroc, is dedicated to sharing the beauty and spirit of Moroccan craftsmanship with the world. I started this journey out of both passion and necessity, I started small, creating listings for handmade tea sets and kaftans made by local artisans in Morocco. What began as a simple idea quickly grew into a full-time business, connecting me with customers who appreciate authenticity and culture. Etsy allowed me to turn this passion into a way to support artisans and keep our culture alive globally.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
The Moroccan tea sets sell very well because tea lovers around the world love to elevate their tea moments with beauty and meaning . They see craftsmanship as one of the finest ways to welcome guests and loved ones with warmth and elegance.
The bridal kaftans are also among my favorites, as they offer the perfect choice for women seeking modest yet elegant dresses to celebrate their special day. As for brass platters, they bring a touch of sophistication to special occasions and gatherings, allowing people to serve food with artistry and cultural charm.

Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale, and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I received my first sale about one month after opening my Etsy shop.
Right now, most of my traffic comes from Pinterest, where I share lifestyle images and product pins that link directly to my listings. I also occasionally run Etsy ads to boost visibility for new or seasoned products. In addition, I use TikTok to showcase short videos of my Moroccan items.
Managing Icimaroc
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo, or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop, and how do you handle fulfillment?
I currently run my Etsy shop entirely by myself. From customer communication to production, packaging, and shipping.
When I receive an order, I contact the artisan who specializes in that type of product and share all the necessary details. Each kaftan is made to order and takes around two weeks to complete, while home decor and brassware items usually take about five days to craft and engrave.
I also rely on a few tools to help me run my shop more efficiently. I use Alura for keyword research, listing optimization, and shop analysis. Everbee to study competitor listings and pricing and eRank for tracking trends and improving SEO. Once everything is ready, I personally wrap each package with care and ship it through FedEx Express.
The future of Icimaroc
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
My main goal is to continue growing Icimaroc by reaching more international customers and increasing overall sales. I am also planning to expand into wholesale, offering Moroccan home decor and tea sets in bulk to wedding planners, event organizers, and boutique stores around the world. In addition, I am working on launching a new Etsy shop focused on digital products, such as printable designs and templates inspired by Moroccan art.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice is to stay consistent and patient. Keep working on your shop every single day; even when sales are slow, your effort will pay off over time. And once you start making sales, customer service becomes the most important part. Make sure every customer has a great experience, from the quality of your product to the way you communicate and handle their order. Happy customers are the key to long-term success on Etsy.
