How  HarmonyHMJewellery got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello, I'm Christina, and I am the owner of Harmony Handmade Jewelry (HarmonyHMJewellery). My Etsy shop started in April 2018 and has been a really exciting journey so far. I always enjoyed being creative in various ways and had been interested in jewelry making. I had a bracelet that looked too big on my small wrist, and I wanted to adjust it in order to make it fit. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and tried it. Not only would the bracelet fit perfectly, but I really enjoyed the process as well and started learning how to make different styles of jewelry. At first I started making jewelry with semi-precious stones, but soon after I decided to make macramé, which is what I have mostly made until today.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite products are the parent-child matching bracelets as well as couples bracelets, especially those with magnetic charms. It makes both me and my daughter smile when the magnets attach, and I receive very positive feedback from the customers.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took just a few days before I made my first sale to a family member, and a couple of months before I started making sales regularly. Social media and Etsy offsite ads help attract buyers to my Etsy shop.

Managing  HarmonyHMJewellery

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Since I opened my Etsy shop, I've been working on my own. I design and make the jewelry, take the photos, find the suppliers, and I occasionally get some help with shipping. It's not always easy, but it's definitely worth it!

The future of  HarmonyHMJewellery

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I'm very grateful that my Etsy shop has made so many sales so far, and I will be very happy if things keep going like this in the future. I like the fact that I run a small business because it is flexible and allows me to understand what the customers need. My most important goal is to always make my customers happy.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Loving what you do is the most important thing. While making my jewelry, I like to think that the recipients will be very happy when they receive it, and I always send my orders out with love. Customer service is really important as well, and last but not least, you need to be patient. You might not make your first sale within one day, but rest assured that if you believe it, you can achieve it!
