How FitnessHealthLtd got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
René (son) and Jenny (mom) began our family-run business in 2011 in Swansea. With Rene’s experience in the Navy, cheffing, and personal training, and Jenny’s knowledge as a nurse in the NHS and in customer service at Holland & Barrett for many years. Our objective is to deliver quality supplements and products at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, Jenny passed away in 2017 after 10 years of living with cancer. Jenny was our human inspiration and had a personality larger than life!
We started fitness health with the aim of helping people improve their health and wellness. We have over 30 years of knowledge and experience in the fitness and health sectors. We source the finest quality products for customers, and we remove all plastics from our health products with the aim of becoming a carbon neutral company in 2023. Our passion is to deliver high-quality, plastic-free supplements that give you the most from your effort. We are honest, friendly, and helpful. Please message us if you have any questions.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My favorite items in the shop are mostly items that increase your gut health, like the Fiber Pro supplement or husk and inulin, as there are so many benefits to taking these supplements.
Also new is the Vegan Organic Super Greens, a powdered nutritional drink combining the most powerful greens to help supplement your diet and optimize your daily intake of selenium, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It took a month before our first sale came on Etsy, and since that time we have seen the volume of sales increase. We are a family-run business, and we love our Etsy customers and find the platform full of honest customers looking for personal products. We focus a lot on using natural ingredients and removing plastic from the packaging of the product. By removing all plastic so we can reduce our carbon footprint, we aim to be net zero by the end of 2024.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
Currently, we use third-party software called Veeqo that connects with our shipping providers for UK and international shipping. This is the software where we print, pack, and send orders from.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
To develop more earth-friendly products that we can offer to our loyal customer base.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
I would say that being honest and trustworthy is definitely important and that you should also tell the story of your small business. Most people purchasing from Etsy want to know more about the company they are purchasing from. Also, the other tip is to use SKUs correctly, as these can help when you expand your product lines.
