How EdoniArt got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

My name is Joe Edoni, and my Etsy journey began during covid when I decided to take up art again to pass the time. With every new piece I created I received good positive feedback so decided to start selling my art on the side. Now over 3 years later I am still doing art but now as a full-time job and with even more passion. I create my art by choosing locations from across the UK that locals and tourists love, as well as locations I have had the pleasure of visiting. My style of art involves the use of vibrant bold colors, from which I aim to spread happiness and bring back special memories of times people spent at that specific place.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favourite items listed in my shop are my art prints, coasters and postcards. All these items are my favourite because they make quirky little gifts for loved ones and there is a wide range of designs to choose from. I think they sell well as they are affordable and make great gifts, showcasing my best Scotland artwork.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took me a few days to earn my first sale, and now I work on my listings to improve the reach of these on the Etsy platform and their marketing on external platforms.

Managing EdoniArt

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop, and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage my shop myself. I use Alura to edit and improve my listing quality by adding videos and better tags, and titles. I also look at other sellers to see what they do and what I could do better, as well as watch YouTube videos to learn new methods.

I fulfill most of my items myself and send them via Royal Mail, and some items I send via a drop shipping company.

The future of EdoniArt

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

In the future, I would like to continue growing my Etsy store by adding new, exciting designs and products and increasing my reach further.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I would say to work on the quality of the listing to ensure it has good photos, description, and tags, this way Etsy will push the listing further up the search, meaning more customers will see your item as they scroll.

Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
