How EagleCrystals got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

My name is Dace, and I`m the owner of Eagle Crystals. I opened my store in May 2020. I sell crystals and esoteric products as they are closely connected to crystals. I`m passionate about crystal beauty and their healing properties and wanted to share them with someone else as well. That's how I decided that I should open my store on Etsy, where I can offer healing crystal sets and other crystal products to others who would love them. Slowly, I started to add more products, as they are closely related to crystals and often used together. I do source my crystals from around the world, and they are all ethically sourced, fair-trade crystals.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite products are crystal-infused candles, as they are gorgeous and unique. They are created with all my heart and soul. Each candle is handmade by me. They are the best selling product in my store as they bring light and harmony into everyone’s home, and when they stop burning, there are crystals to keep. It is an amazing gift. The absolute best seller is the Zodiac candle, which has zodiac birthstones. Therefore, customers buy them for themselves, and it is the perfect gift, even when you don’t know what to give someone else as a gift.

The second best selling candle is the Unique Crystal Candle. It is popular as it is unique; everyone can choose the color; and it has lots of different stones included.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took me exactly one month to get my first sale. I use Etsy ads to attract customers and do some posting on Instagram. It is very important to use proper keywords so customers can find your store on Etsy among many other stores.

Managing EagleCrystals

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I am the only person running my store. I work from home, which serves as a small office with all of my products and shipping supplies.The only app I use is Marmalead, where I do additional research for products and also search for keywords. I do all shipping labels manually and use the local post office for shipping.

The future of EagleCrystals 

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I would like to expand my store and offer more products. Also, to assess what is and isn't selling, and to make changes to those products and their variety. As buying habits change, it is important to follow customer demand. Also, there are seasonal habits that must be considered.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Don`t be afraid to start! Try to look around and see what other sellers are selling, what their photos and descriptions are, what their keywords are, and how popular their product is. Also, make sure to read reviews, where you can find lots of useful information. Find a product, make sure the photos are good quality, and take time to create a great description. Also, it is important to understand that it might take time to get your first sale, so do not give up, and if you are unsure, review your photos, description, and keywords as they are the most important things.
