How DimensionSeven got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Dimension7 is mainly a shop for decals, and I’ve just started to add prints and mugs to my store too. I used Facebook, eBay, and my own site (unsuccessfully in comparison) before I came to Etsy, and since then I’ve never looked back. Originally, I made funny t-shirts when I was 21, and then started making decals when I first saw the demand. I make sure to free up some time each month specifically for creating new products, and all of my designs are my own.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

One of my favorite items listed in my shop is the lightning bolt decals; these are what got me involved with ITV last year; they were used in the Big Breakfast House reboot, and my shop name was listed in the credits.

My current favorite product has got to be the snow window clings; they are great in the fact that you can use them year after year (much more climate friendly than regular window decals), they are quick and easy to make, and they are such a great addition to window Christmas displays.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I don’t think it took long at all to make the first sale; I remember the feeling and I was ecstatic when the orders started coming in; that cha-ching is still a dopamine hit. I don’t do any advertising outside of Etsy, but I probably should. I started using Etsy ads last year and do see some return from that. Social media is on my to-do list; it’s one thing I’m not very good at. The one thing I do every day is stay very active in my shop; this helps a lot.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I do everything myself at the moment, but I have visions of expanding in the near future.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My goal is to be the best decal supplier on Etsy. I’m going to have a huge warehouse with lots of machines and staff, and I am going to earn a lot of money too, enough for my partner to be able to quit his job as well.

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Set your goals and work towards them. Be as active as you can be in your shop and be professional in your service.
