How diamondrensu got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello! I am Ankit Nadoda, founder of Diamondrensu and Diamondrensu Lab Grown. I make fine handmade jewelry using moissanites and lab-grown diamonds in gold, silver, and platinum. I started my journey as a diamond craftsman in my own family business; later, I developed my skills in designing and making jewelry. In early 2018, I finally got Diamondrensu registered on Etsy and started selling loose moissanite stones and moissanite jewelry.

All of the items we make are handmade, and the majority of the work we do is customized, which means we make jewelry that customers like, from stone size to shape and color of moissanites, because we cut and polish them rather than sourcing them. We did well in moissanite and moissanite jewelry as a team, with over 3800+ reviews and an average rating of 4.9 out of 5.

With the trend of lab-grown diamonds in mid-2021, we opened our second Etsy store, Diamond Rensula Lab-Grown, and sold over 200 diamonds in the first year. I focused on lab-grown diamond jewelry and designing. We set a goal of using the finest cut and polished lab-grown diamonds, which were not readily available in the market and were in high demand by customers, which helped us succeed with lab-grown diamonds as well.

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Here are a few of my favorite items from the Diamond Rensu Etsy store.

Round brilliant-cut colorless moissanite stud earrings are one of the most popular items. I like them as there is no issue with the size and every woman would love the charm of the moissanite studs. It's perfect as a gift for your wife, mother, daughter, or sister. They are very comfortable for daily wear.

A Portuguese-cut moissanite ring with a snowflake design is loved by many of our customers; it's a unique cut of moissanite and has a number of facets to give the ring that charm. Over time, we have gained the expertise to cut the stone with precision.

An oval-cut moissanite engagement ring is another design that I personally liked a lot, and the reason is the center moissanite, which is an elongated stone set in a claw-prong and pave setting.

A Moissanite tennis bracelet made of round moissanites is very comfortable to wear and makes an excellent gift.

For lab-grown diamond rings, the oval-cut lab-grown diamond ring is my favorite and most in trend. The reason is that it's available in almost all sizes for the center stone and is a certified diamond by IGI if it's above 1 ct.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

My first sale on Diamondrensu took about 10-12 days for moissanite and 3-4 days for lab-grown diamonds. It was difficult to receive our first sale on diamondrensu.com, though it took us nearly a month or so.

The future of diamondrensu 

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

We are planning on creating the most unique and antique shapes and cuts of moissanite and lab-grown diamonds, which will be available in early 2023.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

All new sellers should focus on the product and its quality first, as if you compromise on the quality of your product, you are most likely to receive negative reviews on your first few sales, which will affect the shop a lot. You will need to work hard on it; making sales in the early stages is not easy, and you are definitely going to learn a lot more once you start your shop.
