How DelorenJewelry got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
We started in jewelry design five years ago. It is our passion. I have always been interested in jewelry and the history of jewelry; the first cast metal jewelry dates back 8000 years. We tried selling in other countries before starting on Etsy, which was nearly impossible in practice; we now sell in 51 countries, with 4700 sales to date. Our designs are a mix of old and new, particularly in sterling silver and 18-karat gold.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My favorite design is the oval earring, with and without gold plating. The shape of the earring provides unique reflections. It is one of the best-selling and most combinable models.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
The first sale took 2 weeks, and from that moment on, it continued to rise until today, when we currently have around 500 orders per month. It is very important to follow the information that Etsy provides to detect what people like. Undoubtedly, the most important thing is the client and paying close attention to their opinions. A key indicator is the conversion rate, which in our case was 2.7.
Managing DelorenJewelry
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
We are a small family business; we share different sectors, and we continually exchange opinions. Every day you have to make decisions that will mark the future; you cannot avoid this if you want to continue growing. Transport is essential; we work with different European companies, especially German ones, and the client must be given immediate and complete information about their order. In Deloren's case, the internet's sole point of sale is Etsy. We do not sell on other platforms; we do everything through the different tools that Etsy provides.
The future of DelorenJewelry
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
The goal for this year, 2023, is for the store to continue growing at the current rate. We are going to pay special attention to sterling silver and 18-karat gold. Jewelry, apart from its beauty, is a form of investment. Silver and gold are stable; they have a refuge value.

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
I am deeply grateful to Etsy for the opportunity it has given us; it is very different from other platforms.
To a person who is starting, I recommend:
Be honest with yourself and ask yourself if you are passionate about what you do. If not, find what you are passionate about.
Do not give up, but open your eyes wide. You can change the path, but not the goal.
Recognizing that you can sell all over the world, which was unthinkable just a few years ago.
