How CasedAesthetic got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hi, I’m Rosanna. I’ve always had a passion for entrepreneurship and several years ago opened up my first Etsy shop with digital products. Given the time I had available as a busy mom, creating digital downloads just didn’t seem to be a good fit for me. Then I started watching YouTube about print-on-demand, and that is when I realized it was the perfect fit. I decided to start selling phone cases and tech accessories because I felt it was easier to create designs for these types of products. I source my products from Printify.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite items are one of my Pearl Shell phone cases and also my Let Them phone case. I believe the Pearl Shell phone is selling well because it is a summer theme and also because of the iridescent design it has that makes it look so cute. I feel like my second Favorite phone case sells well because of the cool gradient color theme, and also because lots of women can relate to the Let Them Theory. On this subject, it is very important to check USPTO to make sure the words you use on your designs are not trademarked, and ‘Let Them’ thankfully is not.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took about six weeks for my first sale to come in. I currently attract customers to my shop with a blend of daily Flash sales and Etsy ads. Oh, and consistently uploading listings is very important.

Managing CasedAesthetic

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage my Etsy shop by myself. Some of the tools and apps I use to run my shop are Alura, Canva, Midjourney, Playground, and sometimes Kittl. Printify print-on-demand handles my shipping and fulfillment.

The future of CasedAesthetic

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Most definitely first, add more products, with a goal of adding 700 listings by the end of 2025. I would also like to work on implementing email and possibly adding my own website with my products. I also would like to add the option of offering a bring your own photo customized option for my phone cases, laptop sleeves, and desk mat. Offering personalization is very important on Etsy.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

My advice to new sellers is, once you find a product you enjoy designing for and confirm it is high demand, low competition, do NOT give up. I promise, as you practice, it gets easier.

Always consistently list products, add a daily flash sale, and make sure to use all of the 10 listing images. Add video to all your listings, as this helps the algorithm. Make sure to fill out all parts of your shop. I mean every single one. Keep to 1-3 different product selections, and most importantly, always use an analytics website like Alura to find the best keywords for your listings.

Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
