How CaseBlissStudio got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I have been a 3D motion designer for over 15 years. I have been creating digital content for a long time. A few years ago decided that it was time to create something real with my own hands, to create something that I could hold. 

How did I decide to start with phone cases? I didn't want to create something big, also am good with technology and a quick search of what's trending gave me the idea that I could start making phone cases.

It wasn't an easy start. I got printers, machines, blank,s and so on to start making phone cases. Basically from the very first try it went wrong. I had no idea that so many things could go wrong. So many small things have a huge effect on final outcome.

Probably spent around half a year figuring out the printing process, fine-tuning every single detail of the process. Made a few hundred phone cases as a test just to find the perfect color settings.

Keep in mind that this was all done in my spare time, as I still work full-time as a 3D motion designer.

If I remember correctly first order I received was on 2023 November.

Feedback wasn't the best from the start, as mentioned above - I still was figuring things out.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

These are my top 5 favorites right now.

I think few reasons why these are the top favourites: simple and unique designs. Especially with Customizable Airpod Max cases - the fact that you can customize them! This was new and interesting, as this showed me that products that have customization options sell better. So will be introducing that to each phone case as well.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

From the moment the shop was opened and I received first sale, if I remember it correctly that was a week or two. I do not do anything specific to attract customers to my shop. I only upload new listings with new designs.

Managing CaseBlissStudio

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Currently, it is only me. Am using Alure for research. Pinterest/Etsy for design ideas. Vela to bulk editing listings. Photoshop to create designs. Shipping - using local postal office.

The future of CaseBlissStudio

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

The goal for this shop is to add more designs and new phone cases and/or airpod cases.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Just start! It took me a week from the moment that I got an idea and decided to start making phone cases. So if you decide to start selling on Etsy - just decide, pick a niche, and start!

It's impossible to figure out and learn every single detail - you will do that along the way.Obviously do research. Alura here is the best tool for that.
