How AuPaysDeNosReves got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

For years I worked as a legal assistant but I no longer really felt  fulfilled.. On the other hand, in my free time, I took pleasure in scouring all kinds of jewelry sales sites. And if it was customizable it was even better. Little by little, I said to myself, "Why don't I also start creating personalized jewelry?" With the help of my husband, we stocked up on supplies and opened our online store. At first it was difficult because we didn't have our own identity yet and we didn't really know where to go. But by taking inspiration from other designers, I slowly began to know what I wanted to offer: minimalist items at a very affordable price for everyone to enjoy. I identified my supplier(s), watched dozens of tutorial videos to have the means to offer different types of articles, made different models of articles, took photos and put everything online. The adventure began!

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite item is the personalized cord bracelet. Why ? Because it's really minimalist and that's my favorite thing about bracelets. And if I decide to have several on the same wrist, that doesn't make it too busy either. These bracelets are part of the best sellers of the store in the same way as the Heishi bracelets. I think they sell well because I offer them at a very affordable price and, combined with the many positive reviews from previous customers, potential future customers are reassured about the seriousness of the store and come more naturally.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

At the beginning, the first sales were made more via Instagram, a place where I could have more visibility to present my shop. The first sale came quite quickly but it took at least 6 months, and an opportunity that I was able to seize, for the shop to start selling very regularly. To bring customers to my shop, I initially offer promotions based on the number of items purchased. These promotions are active all year round and I also regularly offer offers (free item, less expensive item, etc.) during important events (Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc.)I also try to regularly feed the store's Instagram account and modify the photos and tags of the various items in the store to remain visible in relation to SEO on Etsy.

Managing AuPaysDeNosReves

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage the shop with the help of my husband. I take care of making orders as well as social networks and customer service with the help of my phone. My husband manages the shop (articles, photos, SEO) with the help of the mobile application provided by Etsy as well as the delivery of orders. For the dispatch of the orders I provide myself in bubble envelopes in a local company and then I send the orders via the national postal service company with tracking number.

The future of AuPaysDeNosReves

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Currently I sell exclusively through Etsy and through Instagram. For this year we want to try to sell occasionally on the markets or during events giving the opportunity to artisans to exhibit their creations. I also think sooner or later to propose one or two new articles to bring a little innovation.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

For me the most important thing is to try to stand out from the thousands of other sellers on the platform (innovative product, quality product, more affordable price, etc.) and not to disperse in relation to what we want to sell. Better to offer two or three different items and know how to do them well than to offer dozens, like the competition, and let yourself be overtaken over time.

Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
