How ArtworkAIShop got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My name is Matthias and I am the creator behind ArtworkAIShop. I started this shop out of a passion for combining technology and creativity. For years, I was fascinated by how artificial intelligence can push the boundaries of art and design, and I wanted to make these unique creations accessible to everyone.
Etsy felt like the perfect platform because it connects independent creators with people who are looking for something truly special and personal. I decided to focus on art prints, posters, and digital downloads – products that bring beauty, inspiration, and conversation pieces into everyday spaces.
All of my designs are created with AI tools like MidJourney and KlingAI, and then refined with professional editing software such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop. For physical products, I work with Gelato’s print-on-demand service, which allows me to ship high-quality prints and framed posters directly to customers worldwide. This way, I can focus on the creative side, while ensuring professional production and fast, reliable delivery.
With ArtworkAIShop, my goal is to create artwork that feels modern, surprising, and inspiring – blending digital innovation with timeless design.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
Two of my favorite themes in my shop are my Portugal-inspired prints and my coffee poster series.
The Portugal pieces are special to me because they capture the soul of a country I really admire – from wine-inspired artworks that reflect tradition and hospitality, to Azulejo tile patterns that turn cultural heritage into modern wall art, and the Fado singer print that symbolizes Lisbon’s emotional and musical heartbeat. These works connect art with travel, culture, and storytelling – something many customers deeply resonate with.

On the other hand, my coffee art prints bring a completely different but equally powerful vibe. They are retro-inspired, colorful, and playful – perfect for kitchens, cafés, or cozy corners at home. They sell well because they combine everyday life with a stylish, vintage aesthetic, and make for wonderful gifts.

Together, these collections represent what I love most about creating art: blending cultural inspiration with everyday beauty, and turning it into timeless designs for modern living spaces.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It actually took about three months until I made my very first sale. At that time, I honestly wasn’t sure if my shop would take off at all, since I originally started this project more as a hobby and a creative experiment. That’s why the first sale felt even more rewarding – it showed me that there is interest in what I create.
Today, I usually receive 1–2 sales per month. I haven’t invested much into marketing yet, but I’ve noticed that Pinterest has become the most important source of visitors to my shop. That makes sense, since people often browse Pinterest for home design and decoration ideas – and my art prints fit really well into that world. I see it as a great match, and a channel I’d like to build on further.
Managing ArtworkAIShop
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
At the moment, I manage the shop completely on my own. That means I take care of everything – from creating the artwork to writing the product descriptions and answering customer messages.. It’s a one-person project, which makes it both challenging and rewarding.
For the creative process, I use AI tools like MidJourney and KlingAI, and then refine my artwork with Canva or Adobe Photoshop. It’s a mix of experimenting, learning, and developing my own style step by step. For shop management, I rely on Etsy’s tools for SEO and analytics, and I use Pinterest and Instagram to showcase my work and reach new audiences.
When it comes to fulfillment, I work with Gelato’s print-on-demand service, which is directly connected to my Etsy shop. This allows me to automatically process orders and ship high-quality posters and framed prints worldwide, without having to manage stock myself. For digital products, Etsy handles the downloads instantly after purchase.
This setup gives me the freedom to focus on creativity while knowing that production and delivery are taken care of professionally.
The future of ArtworkAIShop
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
For the future, my main goal is to grow the shop step by step and reach more people who are looking for unique and creative wall art. I don’t want to limit myself to just one theme – instead, I take inspiration from everyday life and let new ideas flow naturally. For example, my trips to Portugal have given me many ideas, and with my next vacation there, I’m sure I’ll return with even more inspiration. But beyond that, I’m also excited to explore different art forms and styles that reflect new moods and trends.
Another important step for me will be to strengthen my presence on social media. Platforms like Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok already bring me visitors, and I’d like to build on that to make my shop more visible and connect with a wider audience.
In addition to wall art, I’m also interested in building ArtworkAI Studio, a second line focused on denim fashion. I think it’s exciting to not only hang art on your wall, but also wear it and carry it with you. For me, fashion is another way to bring art closer to people and to express creativity in everyday life.
In the long run, I’d love to develop ArtworkAIShop from a hobby into a small side business that regularly supports itself, while keeping the focus on creativity, enjoyment, and new ways of sharing art.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice for new sellers would be: don’t get discouraged if things take time. It took me three months to get my first sale, and at first I wasn’t even sure if anyone would be interested in what I was creating. But patience really pays off.
I also think it’s important to start with a mindset of learning and experimenting. Don’t wait until everything feels “perfect” – just put your work out there and see how people respond. Over time, you’ll naturally improve your listings, photos, and product descriptions.
Another tip is to pay attention to where your audience is. For me, Pinterest turned out to be the best source of traffic, because people there are already looking for home décor inspiration. So it’s worth trying out different platforms and seeing what fits your products.
And maybe most importantly: enjoy the process. Etsy works best when you bring your own passion and personality into your shop – people can feel that, and it makes your shop stand out.
