How AnnyFunnyXx got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My name is Anna, and I am the owner of the brand AnnyFunnyXxx. My Etsy journey began in 2014 with wool painting sales. I have tried many things over the years. But eventually, I started creating designs for cross-stitch patterns. This particular product took the lead. Since 2017, I have been working almost exclusively in this area.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
I have several directions that are persistently in demand. For example, these are bookmark designs. I have a lot of them! On the most diverse topics. This is a great gift that is easy to make yourself, and it will be filled with the warmth of your hands and your love.
Also, I love the fantasy topic. I drew many dragons during my Etsy career. These designs have been popular in my store for five years. But I do not stop and constantly replenish my collection of fantasy patterns.
This year I started collaborating with several new artists. And the patterns in the collection appeared in an entirely new way for me.I began to draw in the style of a watercolor sketch. In this series, lighthouses are the most popular items, as well as autumn sketches.I hope they will find more and more of their customers.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
Five years ago, when I opened a new store under the AnnyFunnyXx brand, sales were extremely slow at first. But gradually, regular buyers appeared, the product began to appear on the first pages of Etsy searches, and sales went well. Now, unfortunately, I had to open a new store due to moving to another country, and it has just started to gain momentum. I'm still posting my patterns to the new store because I have over 1,000 of them! Customers are more likely to find me on Etsy. There is a catastrophic lack of time for the social media run. I have to choose between drawing new designs and running social media.
Managing AnnyFunnyXx
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
Yes, I'm the only one running the store. Mostly I work on the computer. I use the Etsy app on my phone only for quick answers to customer questions. In my applications, I use Alura and Erank. They help to find the right tags and descriptions.
The future of AnnyFunnyXx
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
The most important thing is to keep working and expanding the assortment. I would like to continue my cooperation with some cross-stitch magazines. and also to find interesting new partners and customers.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
I advise: do not be afraid. Don't be afraid to open a new store and try out the idea you've been given to bring to life! Don't be afraid to try new things. But don't expect immediate success in sales. Every sale is based on time and labor.
