How NamasteSilver rewrote its titles to lead with the stone

NamasteSilver
NamasteSilver has sold handmade sterling silver gemstone jewelry on Etsy since 2018, with more than 4,000 sales from its workshop in Jaipur. With hundreds of rings and earrings that all share the same silver, the shop uses Alura's listing optimizer to rewrite listings so they open with the stone, the shape and the size.
Silver and stones from a Jaipur workshop
Every NamasteSilver piece is handcrafted in the shop's Jaipur workshop by artisans with generations of experience in gemstone and silver work. The silver is genuine 925 sterling, never plated, and the stones are natural, so each one has its own color and character. Pawanesh personally oversees every item the workshop makes.
The catalog is wide. Abalone shell teardrops, blue topaz studs, labradorite rings, malachite pendants, baroque pearl drops and garnet earrings sit alongside angel number lockets and engraved cross rings, close to 800 listings in all. Custom sizes, gemstones and designs are welcome. Orders to the US, UK, EU, Canada and Australia ship duties paid, so buyers have no customs fees to settle at the door.
Titles that opened with what every piece shares
Some of the shop's older titles opened with the shop's promise: handmade, sterling silver. It's true of every piece NamasteSilver sells, so it said little about any single one. "Handmade Sterling Silver Garnet Dangle Earrings" makes a buyer read four words before reaching the stone. The details that set one ring apart from the next, like the cut, the shape and the size in millimeters, often didn't make it into the title at all.
Descriptions had a similar shape. They opened with warm general lines, such as "Experience the enchanting charm of this amethyst oval ring", and got to the stone and setting further down. Rewriting that across close to 800 listings, one at a time, is a lot of writing for a workshop whose real work is at the bench.
“Every piece we make is handmade sterling silver. Saying that first doesn't help anyone choose. The stone, the shape and the size are what make one ring different from the next.”
AI drafts, the workshop signs off
The shop does this in Alura's listing editor. Each listing gets a Listing score from 0 to 100, with separate grades for photos, video, title, description and tags, which shows where a listing is thin. Start optimization then runs AI on whatever is ticked in Optimization settings, and most of the shop's new titles, tags and descriptions are drafted this way. Some get edited by hand before they go out.
Nothing reaches Etsy until someone clicks Publish changes. View changes lays the old and new versions side by side first, and the Listing history dialog can restore an earlier one.
Descriptions get a new opening too. On the amethyst oval ring, the AI's first lines now sit at the top, with the original text kept underneath. The first line describes "a faceted purple stone in a 925 sterling silver setting with twisted and curled detailing". Tags changed in the same direction. That ring kept most of its tags, dropped broad ones like "gift under 30" and "elegant unique boho", and added "february birthstone", "oval gemstone ring" and "womens amethyst ring".
“The AI drafts fast, so we let it. The stone, the size and the cut I check myself, because that's where a mistake would cost us.”
Smart Pins takes the catalog to Pinterest
The rewritten listings also feed the shop's Pinterest. With Smart Pins switched on, Alura fills the pin queue once a day from active listings, about ten days ahead, ranked mostly by Etsy listing views. A photo pinned in the last week is never reused, so the queue keeps moving through the catalog. Pin New Listings picks up anything that went live in the past day.
The pin text is set to "Optimized for Pinterest with AI", so each pin gets its own title and description in the listing's language. A garnet ring pin describes "a genuine 8mm round garnet" set in 925 sterling silver, the same kind of detail the Etsy titles now carry.
The stone first, the details right after
Here are four titles before and after the rewrite, all still live on Etsy. Each now opens with the stone and the piece. The amethyst ring gains its 10x8mm octagon cut, and the garnet earrings their pear shape. Phrases aimed at a type of buyer, like "for Nature Lovers" and "for Girls", make way for what the buyer is actually looking at.
The silver is still there. "925 Sterling Silver" follows the stone in every one of these titles. Handmade hasn't left the listings either. Most descriptions still say the piece is handcrafted, further down the page, where there's room to explain how it's made to a buyer who has already found the right stone.

Settle the customs bill before the buyer has to
For any seller shipping jewelry overseas: work out import duties before the parcel leaves. NamasteSilver ships duties paid to its biggest markets, so the price a buyer sees at checkout is the price they pay. It also lists delivery estimates by country, from 7 to 10 business days for the US and UK to 10 to 15 for Canada and Australia, so nobody is left guessing.
“Nobody wants a customs bill at the door for a ring they've already paid for. We'd rather handle the duties ourselves and know the buyer opens the box happy.”
NamasteSilver received Alura credits as a thank-you for sharing this story.
