Facts checked October 15, 2026. Compared with [RankHero (formerly EtsyCheck)](https://www.rankhero.com).

Alura carries a listing fix all the way into your Etsy shop: it rewrites the title, tags and description with AI and publishes the change, where RankHero's generators end with a copy button. Basic then sends buyer follow-ups, and Growth adds Pinterest, Etsy Ads and A/B tests. RankHero costs less and links 3 shops from $7.99.

## RankHero or Alura: which one fits your shop?

### Choose RankHero if

- You want a low-cost SEO toolkit for several Etsy shops: Side Hustle links 3 for $7.99, Business links 10 for $12.99. [1]
- You take custom orders and want to look up a buyer's review history with Buyer Check before you start making. [13]
- You also sell on eBay and want its title, research and fee tools in the same account. [15, 16]

### Choose Alura if

- You want AI rewrites that land on Etsy in one click, instead of copying each title and tag across.
- You want messages to go out after each order on Basic, plus Pinterest, Etsy Ads and A/B tests on [Growth](https://www.alura.io/pricing).
- You want to ask Claude or ChatGPT about Etsy demand: Alura's [MCP and API](https://www.alura.io/mcp) are on every plan, Free included.

## Where each one is stronger

### Where RankHero is stronger

- **More shops for less money**: Side Hustle links 3 Etsy shops for $7.99 a month, Business 10 for $12.99 and Enterprise 25. Alura links one shop until [Professional](https://www.alura.io/pricing) at $69.99 a month, or $29.99 billed yearly, so a seller with a few small shops pays far less on RankHero. [1]
- **Try the tools with no account**: Listing Analyzer, Tag Generator, Rank Check and Buyer Check run without signing up, up to a daily limit. A free account then gives 3 uses a day on most tools. Alura's keyword and listing tools need a free account. [1, 9, 11, 12, 13]
- **Check a buyer before a custom order**: Buyer Check shows the reviews a buyer has left other shops, next to anonymous ratings from RankHero sellers who sold to them. Its founder built it before RankHero existed. Alura has no buyer lookup. [3, 13]
- **eBay tools in the same account**: Since June 2026 it also offers an eBay title builder, product research, description writer and fee calculator. Alura covers Etsy only. [1, 16]

### Where Alura is stronger

- **The rewrite goes live on Etsy**: Alura scores a listing, rewrites its title, tags and description with AI, and publishes the change to Etsy in one click. RankHero's generators end with copy buttons for you to paste into Etsy. AI features use credits. [9, 10]
- **Money back if it isn't right**: Every Alura plan has a 7-day money-back guarantee. RankHero says subscriptions are generally non-refundable, though it reviews issues raised within 7 days. [1]
- **Selling tools after the SEO**: Basic sends buyer messages at order and delivery. Growth brings Pinterest pins, A/B tests, an Etsy Ads optimizer and profit tracking. RankHero calls itself SEO-first, with marketing outside its focus. [6]

## Moving from RankHero, or using both

There is little to carry over: RankHero's tools start from a keyword, a listing link or a shop name. You can also run both, keeping RankHero Free for Buyer Check and rank checks while Alura publishes your listing changes. [1, 13]

1. List the tags and keywords you rely on from RankHero.
2. Sign up for Alura Free and link your Etsy shop on Etsy's own approval screen.
3. Paste up to 100 of those keywords into Alura's bulk keyword search to compare them.
4. Keep RankHero Free for Buyer Check if you still use it.
5. Cancel the paid RankHero plan when ready; it runs until the billing period ends.

## Questions

### Is RankHero free?

Yes, with limits. Free gives 3 uses a day on most tools and one linked shop, with no card or time limit, and several tools need no account. Etsy Trends, Niche Finder and RankHero AI need Business. Alura Free has no time limit either: 5 keyword and 5 product searches a day, plus 10 listings you can optimize. [1, 11]

### Is EtsyCheck now RankHero?

Yes. EtsyCheck renamed itself RankHero on May 24, 2025, saying the word Etsy is a trademark it could not keep using and that the name made people confuse it with Etsy. etsycheck.com now redirects to rankhero.com. The team is the same, and Buyer Check, its first tool, is still part of it. [3, 4, 5]

### How much is RankHero?

Side Hustle is $7.99 a month or $71.88 a year, Business $12.99 or $119.88, and Enterprise $49.99 or $359.88, as of October 15, 2026. Plans differ in daily uses, 25 to 300 on most tools, and linked shops, 3 to 25. Alura runs from Basic at $11.99 to Professional at $69.99. [1]

### Is RankHero legit?

Yes. RankHero LLC of Wheeling, Illinois, publishes it and uses Etsy's official API, without Etsy endorsement. Ratings are thin, as of October 15, 2026: the extension has 85 users and 5.0 from 3 ratings, and Trustpilot shows 2 reviews, both 5 stars (TrustScore 3.8). Alura's extension has 100,000 users and 4.7 from 439 ratings, and 3.9 from 434 reviews on Trustpilot. [2, 8, 17, 18, 19]

### Is RankHero worth it?

For SEO checks across a few shops on a small budget, it can be: $7.99 a month covers 3 shops. It fits less well if you want changes published to Etsy for you, or follow-ups and marketing in the same tool. Try its no-account tools first, then compare what Alura Basic or Growth adds. [1, 6, 11]
